So the draft army list rules came out for FOGN 3rd edition. 1809-1811 Anlgo Portuguese lists says skirmishers are limited to 2 per division and you can only attach 2 cavalry squadrons to a single mixed division. So no more mounted guerillas :(
I CAN get more larger units now, and it seems everyone is going for either large or superior units to be able to ignore the first hit from artillery or counter charge fire.So the 1st Division is still the vanguard. They have the greatest firepower and are the most resilient. If I have towns or strong-points the large units can garrison them extremely well and the Highlander units can sit near them for a counter attack.
The Light Division is the flanking unit - either for an outflank mission or to the side of the main body.
The Portuguese Division holds the redoubts or closer to the line of communications - it can't attack a location by itself or fight a cavalry division by itself either.
The Cavalry Division holds one flank by itself. If it has to fight a larger cavalry division, I'm hoping the Royal Horse Artillery veteran's will give it a chance before fighting heavier cavalry.
I MUST secure one flank with either terrain or a flanking attack - Either use a river to guard a flank or an extra road to secure the LOC to a corner. Note: new rules are that rivers or streams less than 6 feet across cannot be in the centre section.
Hi, how do I get information on Version 3 of FOGN?

Beyond my blog, the best place would be the facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/gloryisfleeting. Also the best place to ask questions and find someone else to play with. The books are on your local amazon - look for Glory is Fleeting.
